Growing up in Ottawa, I have always understood the importance of a well-working government.
Through my Bachelors of Commerce in Marketing and International Management and through my experiences working with and within the Government of Canada, I became interested in how Canada can affect the global political sphere. This led me to begin my Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs.
Since then, I have gained an intense understanding in the importance of national safety and security. As a Senior Risk Analyst at Global Affairs Canada, I assessed and advised on the security and emergency management risks to Canadians and Canadian assets abroad. And, now, as a Senior Policy Advisor at Public Safety Canada, I develop policies to strengthen Canada’s cyber security and resiliency. In the future, I hope to continue to work on policies that keep Canadians safe.
As I continue to write my dissertation for my Doctorate in International Conflict Management and Resolution, I am focused on learning how we can effectively utilize criminal deterrence economics to reduce illegal transnational trade. In an effort to show how reducing illegal trade can improve both international security and the protection of the environment, my case study is the illegal fishing and trading of the American eel.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, pottery, and photography.
